Personal information
Your personal information is protected by law, including under the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act).
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identifiable individual. Personal information includes an individual’s name and contact details.
Collection of your information
Your personal information may be collected on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (the department) by The Australian Training Awards contracted event management provider, photographer, videographer, caterer and other contracted suppliers.
Purpose of collecting your information
Your personal information is collected for the purposes of running and promoting the Australian Training Awards.
If you do not provide some or all of the personal information requested, you will not be able to purchase tickets to the Australian Training Awards presentation event.
Disclosure of your personal information
Your personal information may be disclosed to third parties, including but not limited to the Australian Training Awards contracted event management provider, photographer, videographer, caterer and other contracted suppliers.
Your image or other personal information may also be included in photos/videos published to promote the Australian Training Awards (making it accessible to overseas recipients).
Your personal information may be disclosed to other parties where you have agreed, or whether it is otherwise permitted under the Privacy Act.

Privacy Consent
Collection of sensitive information
Sensitive information is a subset of personal information. It includes information or an opinion about your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs, membership of associations or unions, sexual orientation or practices, criminal record, and health, genetic or biometric information.
We need your consent to collect your sensitive information unless the collection is otherwise permitted under the Privacy Act. You do not have to consent to the collection of your sensitive information. If you do consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time.
Disclosure of personal information to overseas recipients
Photos and videos will be taken at the Australian Training Awards presentation event. Photos and videos containing your image or other personal information may be published to promote the Australian Training Awards, which may involve disclosure of such personal information to overseas recipients. The department needs your consent to disclose your personal information to overseas recipients. If you provide consent, the department will not be responsible under the Privacy Act for how the overseas recipients handle your personal information. The laws of the overseas country will apply.

Digital Media and Photography Consent
By registering to attend the 2025 Australian Training Awards, I consent to being photographed, filmed and recorded in any medium, by:
· any staff of the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (‘the Department’);
· the Department’s agents, including but not limited to any photographer, interviewer, creative agency or media organisation
for the purposes of promoting the Australian Training Awards and vocational education and training.
I consent to and authorise the use and disclosure by the Department, its Ministers and its Agents of any photographs, footage, words, images, quotes or other comments made by or attributed to me, and any other personal information about me, including sensitive information, collected in connection with the Initiative (together, the ‘Material’) for the purpose of promoting the Initiative and for any related purposes.
I consent to and authorise the Material being made publicly available including by publishing it as or as part of any book, newspaper advertisement or article, television advertisement or programme, radio advertisement or programme and including on the internet (which by its nature may involve disclosure to overseas recipients in any country) and any other media at any time. I understand that once the Material is published that it will be in the public domain and that the Department, its Ministers and its Agents are limited in their ability to prevent subsequent use and dissemination of that Material even if information about me in it (such as my employment status) has ceased to be true or is otherwise misleading at the time of its use. To the extent (if any) I own intellectual property rights in the Material or any part of the Material, I licence the Department, its Ministers and its Agents to copy and disseminate it in accordance with this consent.
I agree that the Department, its Ministers and its Agents:
· are not obliged to, and have not represented they will, publish the Material;
· do not have to identify me as author of any of the Material which they do publish or otherwise communicate; and
· may edit the Material prior to publication as the Department, he or she sees fit without first checking with me.

I understand that in participating in the above activity I am agreeing to do so on the basis that there is no fee payable to me for such participation.
I understand that the consequence of not providing consent is that I will not appear in the Material and that I retain the right to withdraw the consent granted in writing at any time prior to publication of the Material.
